Kaitlyn Bevans (Beaver Meadows, PA/Hazleton) Post Game Interview
WILKES-BARRE -
Kaitlyn Bevans (Beaver Meadows, Hazleton) scored two goals and the Lady Colonels scored four goals as a team in the second half to rally from an early deficit to Moravian on Saturday. The 4-2 victory gave Wilkes its fourth straight win, boosting its record to 4-1 on the season.
The Lady Colonels found themselves down early in the contest, as the Greyhounds were able to score less than five minutes into the game. For the rest of the first half, the two teams went back and forth, with neither squad able to tally another score.
It was a different story in the second period, as Wilkes scored two goals in the first seven minutes, one by
Gina Elmy (Wilkes-Barre, G.A.R) and the other by Bevans. Moravian answered in the 49th minute, but Wilkes tacked on two more scores, one by Bevans and another by
Olivia Dworak (Dupont, Wyoming Seminary), to seal the victory, 4-2.
Lindsey Davenport (Dallas, Dallas) had another great game in goal, saving six shots while playing the entire contest.
Wilkes will look to continue their winning ways when they host William Paterson on Tuesday, Sept. 21. That game will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
