 WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS 3-2 THRILLER AT DVC
 
DOYLESTOWN, PA – Host Delaware Valley College took the deciding fifth set 15-12 to post a thrilling 3-2 win over visiting Wilkes University in Freedom Conference volleyball action Wednesday night.

The Aggies took the first set 25-9 before Wilkes answered with a 25-22 win to tie the match at 1-1. Delaware Valley posted a 25-17 win in set three and the Lady Colonels answered again taking the fourth set 25-23 to force the deciding fifth frame.
 
Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) and Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way with 14 kills each, while Trusty added 13 digs and Bohan three block assists. Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY/Warwick Valley) contributed five kills and 18 digs, while setter Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley) led the passing game with 34 assists and 21 digs. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights), ranked fifth in NCAA Division III digs per-set (5.92), chipped in with 21 digs.
 
Wilkes will return to the court this weekend when they play in the Neumann University Invitational. The Lady Colonels will meet Neumann and Rowan on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. respectively, then face Ursinus at 10:00 a.m. and Nazareth at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday to conclude play.
