WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS FREEDOM MATCH TO DESALES, 3-0
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University volleyball team fell to DeSales University in Freedom Conference play in straight sets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-10) from the Marts Center Tuesday night.
The Lady Colonels fall to 1-15 overall and 0-4 in Freedom play. The Bulldogs improve to 20-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference matches.
Wilkes was led by Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) with eight kills, seven digs, and one solo block. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) earned 17 digs in the match. Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley) led the passing game with 15 assists.
DeSales was led by Madelne Svrcek who posted 11 kills and 13 digs.
Wilkes returns to action Saturday, October 8 in a tri-match between University of Scranton at 12:00 p.m. and Hilbert College at 4:00 p.m. from the Marts Center.
