WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS A PAIR OF MATCHES AT BAPTIST BIBLE TRI-MATCH
CLARKS SUMMIT, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Baptist Bible tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Lady Colonels fell in straight sets (3-0) to the host Knights, before falling 3-0 against Lycoming in their second match of the day.
Wilkes falls to 1-7 overall and remain 0-1 in Freedom matches.
In the match against Baptist Bible, Wilkes fell by scores of 24-26, 17-25, and 18-25. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) led the way with 10 kills and nine digs. Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY/Warwick Valley) followed with seven kills and seven digs. Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley) led the passing game with 22 assists, while Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) contributed a team-high 11 digs from her defensive position.
Wilkes dropped the match against Lycoming by scores of 10-25, 15-25, and 10-25. Trusty led the way again with seven kills and four digs. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) added five kills, one service ace, and four digs. McGurk finished with 10 assists.
Wilkes will return to Freedom action Tuesday night when they host Eastern University at 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
