WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-1 AT MARYWOOD IN NON-CONFERENCE MATCH
SCRANTON, PA – Host Marywood University posted wins in the first two sets on way to a 3-1 victory against Wilkes University Thursday night at the Insalaco Center in non-conference volleyball action.
With the loss Wilkes falls to 1-9 overall, while Marywood improves to 6-5 on the year.
The Pacers took the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-13. Wilkes captured the third set 25-22 before Marywood closed out the match taking the fourth set 25-22.
Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way for Wilkes with eight kills.
Paige Pientka (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) followed with seven kills.
Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) finished with a team-high 16 digs.
Wilkes will return to the court Saturday when the Lady Colonels travel to Reading, Pa, to compete at the Penn Stats Berks tri-match. Wilkes will face the host Lions at 10:00 a.m. before a matchup with Montclair State at 12:00 p.m.
