WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS TWICE AT PSU BERKS TRI-MATCH
READING, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team fell twice at the PSU-Berks tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Lady Colonels dropped a 3-0 decision against the host PSU Berks, then fell in a thrilling 3-2 match against Montclair State.
With the losses Wilkes falls to 1-11 on the year.
Wilkes fell in straight sets to PSU Berks by scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-14. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) led the way with six kills and six digs. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) followed with four kills and one dig. Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley) led the passing game with 15 assists.
In the second match of the day, Wilkes fell in five sets to Montclair St. by scores of 22-25, 25-22, 26-24, 11-25, and 8-15. The Lady Colonels were led by Trusty's nine kills and seven digs. Bohan followed with eight kills, while Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY/Warwick Valley) finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. McGurk had 26 assists.
Wilkes will return to Freedom Conference play Wednesday when they travel to cross-town rival King's College for a match at 7:00 p.m. in the Scandlon Gymnasium.
