WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN STRAIGHT SETS AT CABRINI, 3-0 9/7/2011 8:44:00 PM WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN STRAIGHT SETS AT CABRINI, 3-0 RADNOR, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team fell in straight sets, 3-0, at Cabrini College Wednesday night. It marked the second meeting between the two squads in the last five days. Cabrini captured a 3-0 victory against the Lady Colonels in the first game of the Moravian Invitational last weekend in a neutral site contest. Wilkes dropped the match by scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-18. With the loss Wilkes moves to 1-4 on the season, while Cabrini improves to 4-4 on the year. Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY/Warwick Valley) led the way for Wilkes posting a team-high eight kills, 11 digs, and two blocks. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) continued her fine offensive play finishing with seven kills and 11 digs. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) added four kills while blocking five Cabrini scoring attempts. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) contributed a team-best 24 digs from the back line, while Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley) led the passing game with 18 assists. Wilkes make their home debut Wednesday when the Lady Colonels welcome local rival Misericordia University at 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center. It will begin Freedom play for both squads.
