SCRANTON COLLECTS 3-0 WIN OVER WILKES VOLLEYBALL
 
SCRANTON, PA – Host University of Scranton posted a three set sweep by scores of 25-21, 25-11, and 25-23 over visiting Wilkes University Monday night in the Long Center in non-conference volleyball action.
 
With the loss Wilkes sees its overall mark slip to 7-13.
 
Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area), the Freedom Conference leader in kills, finished with a team-high eight kills and two total blocks. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) (six kills) and Alisha Rupp (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) (three kills) combined for nine kills and one dig. Courtney Kania (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) enjoyed a fine all-around game contributing three kills, two assists, and seven digs.
 
Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with a team-best 17 assists, while Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) held up the Wilkes backline with a match-high 24 digs.
 
Julia Crilly and Jenell McFadden combined for 25 kills and five service aces to lead the Lady Royals.
 
Wilkes returns home Wednesday hosting Delaware Valley College for a Freedom Conference match scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
