WILKES BASKETBALL TEAMS SET FOR NON-CONFERENCE TWINBILL TUESDAY
 
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting a doubleheader Tuesday in the Marts Center. The Wilkes women will host Marywood University at 6:00 p.m. with the Colonel men welcoming Baptist Bible College following the conclusion of the women's contest at 8:00 p.m.

The Lady Colonels are off to a 2-0 start this season after pulling away from Shenandoah (54-42) in their opener and cruising past Penn State Wilkes-Barre 90-54 on Saturday.
 
Wilkes is led by Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA/Valley View) who is recording an impressive 24.5 points per-contest. She is also contributing 5.5 rebounds per-game and has connected on a team-best seven three pointers. Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) has put together a strong start to her senior campaign averaging 11.0 points while first-year basketball player Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) is averaging 10.0 points per-game.
 
Sophomore transfer Ellen Rich (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall) leads the Lady Colonels frontcourt grabbing 7.0 boards per-game while Ginny Edwards (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) is contributing 3.0 rebounds off the bench.
 
Marywood enters Tuesday's contest with a 1-1 overall record, recording a 62-52 victory over Clarkson University after suffering a 63-45 loss to FDU-Florham in its season opener.
 
The Pacers are led by Brittany Mang with 13.0 points while Carly Leitzel averages 6.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per-game.
 
The Colonels stand at 1-0 after pulling away from Penn State Hazelton 68-61 in their season opener Friday.
 
Chris Shovlin (Kingston, PA/G.A.R.) and Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) led the way for the Colonels by contributing 21 and 17 points respectively. Pat Furst (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks West) added seven points off the bench while Brendan Sheldon (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) and Jeremy Hartman (Little Egg Harbor, NJ/Pinelands Regional) led the frontcourt with nine and seven rebounds each.
 
Baptist Bible is 1-1 recording an 86-79 win over Marywood in the consolation game of the Laurel Line Tournament at Misericordia. BBC dropped a 78-60 decision to host Misericordia in the opening round after leading at the half 34-32.
 
Dan Decker and Dan Dodd are each averaging 13.5 points while Jordan Grieve and Luke Peterson are contributing 12.5 points per-contest. Dodd leads the Defender frontcourt with 7.5 boards per-game while Abe Valentine averages 4.0 assists.
 
Following Tuesday's play, the Wilkes men will host Lycoming College Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Marts Center, while the Lady Colonels return to the court next Wednesday in their Freedom Conference opener at Misericordia at 6:00 p.m.
