Steve Finkernagel Wilkes returns to Freedom play Tuesday at Eastern University WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS PAIR OF MATCHES AT HOME TRI-MATCH 9/15/2012 8:04:00 PM WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS PAIR OF MATCHES AT HOME TRI-MATCH WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at its home tri-match Saturday afternoon from the Marts Center. The Lady Colonels fell 3-0 to Baptist Bible, then suffered a 3-1 defeat against Lycoming College in their second match of the afternoon. Wilkes falls to 4-9 overall. In the match against BBC (20-25, 25-27, 23-25), Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way with 15 kills and two solo blocks. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) and Marissa Kier (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) each added four kills, while Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with 19 assists. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) finished with a team-high 18 digs. Against Lycoming (24-26, 25-27, 25-16, 25-18), Bohan was strong again on the attack posting a match-high 17 kills and two more solo blocks. Trusty followed with 13 kills and one blocks while Alisha Rupp (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) contributed five kills. Powers finished with 40 assists, while Nothstein added 25 digs. Wilkes returns to play Tuesday when they travel to St. Davids, Pa. to face Freedom foe Eastern University at 7:00 p.m. Print Friendly Version
