WILKES VOLLEYBALL SUFFERS 3-0 DEFEAT AT EASTERN IN FREEDOM PLAY

ST. DAVIDS, PA – Host Eastern University, the defending Freedom Conference champion, posted a straight set 3-0 win over Wilkes University Tuesday night. Wilkes fell by scores of 13-25, 8-25, and 12-25.

Wilkes sees its overall mark slip to 4-10 and stand 1-1 in league matches. Eastern improves to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in Freedom contests.

Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the Wilkes attack with 10 kills. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) added three kills, while Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) contributed a team-high 10 digs. Setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished with 17 assists.

Kearby Benak was one of six Eagles with five or more kills topping the squad with 11 kills.

Wilkes returns to the court Saturday traveling to Scranton, Pa. to face Keystone College at 12:00 p.m.
