It marks the first time Wilkes has reached the top ten in head coach Jon Laudenslager's tenure at the helm of the Colonel program. Wilkes looks to continue its winning way Saturday, after posting nine straight victories dating back to early December, when it wrestles at the Metro Duals this weekend. The Metropolitan Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (MIWA) has decided to alter the format of this weekend's MIWA Duals due to several teams electing not to compete at the event. Rather than the original championship tournament format, the MIWA has decided to host conference duals that will include the following teams: Wilkes, Delaware Valley College, Elizabethtown College, King's College and Hunter College. The MIWA duals will take place in the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center on the campus of Centenary College with duals scheduled to begin at 11:00am. After a bye in the first round, the Colonels will face No. 9 Delaware Valley (5-0) at 1:00 p.m. before a match against Hunter at 3:00 p.m. Three Wilkes wrestles are ranked nationally in the latest NWCA individual rankings. At 133, junior Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) (20-4) is tabbed eighth, while redshirt sophomore Mark Hartenstine (Easton, PA/Easton) (9-1) is ranked seventh at 149-pounds and junior Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) (17-2) was selected fifth at 157 after moving up a class midway through this season.
