Wilkes slips to 7-6 overall and remains winless at 0-3 in conference play. Delaware Valley improves to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in league games. Wilkes started strong early as Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) canned a jumper to give the Colonels a 10-5 lead with 15:17 left in the first half. A deep three-pointer from leading scorer Chris Shovlin (Kingston, PA/G.A.R.) kept the lead at five, 13-8 just three minutes later. After a small Aggie run, Delaware Valley took its first lead of the night 17-15 with four straight free throws. Five more quick point including a Beckett put-back. The Delaware Valley lead grew to nine before the Aggies settled for a seven point advantage at the break, 33-26. Wilkes moved to within five with 7:24 left in the second frame using another trey from Shovlin. That's the closest the Colonels would get as Delaware Valley reeled off seven straight points over the next three minutes to take a comfortable 77-63 lead with just over two minutes left in the game. Shovlin led the Colonels offense with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting adding seven assists and six rebounds in 37 minutes of action. Pat Furst (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks West) joined Shovlin in double figures with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor. Wilkes shot 45.0 percent from the field, but struggled to stop the Aggie offensive attack as Delaware Valley made 47.5 percent of its shots from the field. Daulton Derr (19 points), Francis Arnold (13 points), and Jay Donovan (12 points) joined Beckett in double figures for Delaware Valley. The Aggies also held a slight 39-34 advantage on the glass.
