JOSEPH'S TOURNAMENT PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Wilkes University volleyball team completed the four-match sweep winning a pair of games Saturday afternoon to finish play at the St. Joseph College Tournament in Long Island, N.Y. Wilkes pushes its win streak to six straight games and stands 15-9 overall following the 4-0 record at the two-day event. The Lady Colonels posted a 3-0 win over host St. Joseph's by scores of 26-24, 25-23, and 25-20 then swept Ramapo College in its final match of the tournament by scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-21. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way offensive in the win over St. Joseph's collecting a match-high 13 kills with a .414 hitting percentage. Kelsey Yacko (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) followed with eight kills and four total blocks from her middle hitter position, while Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) combined for 11 kills from the outside attack. Setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) recorded a match-high 27 assists while libero Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) finished with 14 digs on the Wilkes backline. Bohan added 10 kills and five digs in the win over Ramapo. Paskas followed with eight kills hitting at .316 and Yacko contributed seven kills hitting at .467. Powers led the passing game with 31 assists, while Mallory finished with a team-high 12 digs. Wilkes returns to Freedom Conference play Tuesday when the Lady Colonels travel to cross-town rival King's College for a match at 7:00 p.m. in the Scandlon Gymnasium.
