WILKES-BARRE, PA – Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) and Kelsey Yacko (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) combined for 26 kills to lead visiting Wilkes University to a 3-1 win over cross-town rival King's College Tuesday night.

With the win Wilkes improves to 16-9 overall and 5-1 in Freedom games. Wilkes also clinches a spot in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament, the second straight season under head coach Joseph Czopek. King's slips to 12-10 on the year, 1-5 in league matches.

Wilkes claimed the win in the first set 25-21 before dropping the second set 25-17. The Lady Colonels rebounded for a 25-7 win in the third set and clinched the match with a 25-15 victory in the deciding fourth set.

Bohan and Yacko led the offense for Wilkes each contributing 13 kills. Setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished with a match-high 44 assists, while libero Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) posted 26 digs in the win.

Up next, Wilkes hosts the University of Scranton Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference match in the Marts Center.
