EDWARDSVILLE – Alyia Frankel scored the game-winning goal five minutes into the second overtime to lead host Wilkes University to a 3-2 win over DeSales University Saturday night at Schmidt Stadium.

Wilkes improves to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in Freedom play. DeSales falls to 8-8 on the year, 4-2 in league games.

Frankel took a pass at midfield and dribbled all the way into the circle before letting go on a shot that beat the keeper to the inside right post.

Devon Kriebel (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) opened the scoring for Wilkes when she found the back of the net off an assist from Ashley Ream (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) at the 16:59 mark of the first. DeSales answered tying the game when Meryah Harding scored at 36:10.

After the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead late into the second half, Ashley Hahn (Bangor, PA/Bangor) tied the game with just under three minutes left in regulation off an assist from Emily Saliba (Scotrun, PA/Pocono Mountain East).

Alexis Reed (Greenport, NY/Greenport) was solid in net finishing with 11 saves on the night.

Wilkes hosts Misericordia University in its Freedom Conference finale Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
