WILKES VOLLEYBALL BOUNCES BACK WITH 3-0 WIN AGAINST KEYSTONE

WILKES-BARRE – Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) posted a match-high 13 kills and added four total blocks to lead host Wilkes University to a 3-0 sweep of Keystone College Saturday afternoon at the Marts Center.

Wilkes, who defeated the Giants earlier this season 3-1, improves to 17-10 overall. Keystone slips to 15-14 on the year.

Bohan finished with a .684 hitting percentage with the 13 kills and no errors in 19 attempts. Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) followed with seven kills and one service aces, while Kelsey Yacko (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) added four kills and two solo blocks. Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with 29 assists and Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) and Vicki Yakobosky (Auburn/Nativity BVM) combined for 30 digs on the Wilkes backline.

Wilkes finishes up Freedom Conference play Wednesday hosting Misericordia University at 7:00 p.m. at the Marts Center. Win or lose, Wilkes has clinched the second seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament and will host the third seed who is yet to be determined on Wednesday, November 6.
