Wilkes fell 3-0 to Lancaster Bible College in its first match of the day, then dropped a 3-0 decision to host Messiah in the nightcap. Wilkes finishes the 2013 regular season with an 18-12 overall mark, twice as many wins as it had a season ago when the Lady Colonels finished with nine victories. Wilkes fell against Lancaster Bible by scores of 25-10, 25-23, and 27-25. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the attack with 11 kills and one solo block. Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) contributed a team-high 17 digs while Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with 23 assists. Messiah then posted the sweep over Wilkes by scores of 25-19, 25-9, and 25-15. Bohan and Kelsey Yacko (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin) combined for seven kills and two total blocks. Mallory added nine digs. Wilkes accounted for a season-low 12 kills the entire match. Wilkes enters the Freedom Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 seed DeSales University on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the semifinals.
