The Lady Colonels (1-6, 0-2 Freedom) look to snap a five-game losing skid as they compete in the 13th annual Roosevelt Moravian College Winter Classic in Bethlehem, Pa. Wilkes opens the tournament against Immaculata University at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Host Moravian entertains John Jay College at 7:00 p.m. to conclude the first round. The victors of the first round games will meet in the tournament championship on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., while the two remaining teams will play in the consolation round at 1:00 p.m. Live stats, live video and live audio will be available for both days of the tournament at the links below. After opening the season with a win against Goucher College, Wilkes lost four straight games by five points or less, including one in overtime. The Lady Colonels are holding opponents to 63.7 points per-contest and a .357 shooting percentage through their first seven games. Sharpshooting junior guard Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA/Valley View), leads the team with 20.9 ppg and 17 three-point field goals. Stambone sits just 88 points away from the 1,000-point mark for her career. Junior swing Chelsea Brown (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley) joins Stambone in double-figures in scoring with 14.1 ppg and boasts team-high marks with 9.6 rpg and 16 steals. Junior forward Ginny Edwards (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) has averaged 4.6 ppg and 8.3 rpg this season, while junior center Ellen Rich (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall) has blocked 22 shots to go with averages of 4.4 ppg and 5.6 rpg. Sophomore guard Kayla Brahm (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) (2.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg) controls the floor with a team-best 27 assists. The Wilkes men's squad enters the third annual Cross County Challenge hosted by the University of Scranton with a 5-4 overall record after splitting a pair of games at the Monarch Classic on December 14 and 15.
