• Nine Colonel wrestlers have started with ten wins or better and 27 wrestlers stand .500 or better through the first ten weeks of competition for Wilkes.

• The Colonels improved to 10-1 in dual matches on the year after posting a 33-3 victory over then No. 12 Elizabethtown College on Friday, November 22. Wilkes claimed wins in nine of the ten bouts including extra points in three bouts.

• At 133-pounds, senior Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) (96-25) needs just four more victories to reach the 100-win plateau for his career. He would become the sixth Wilkes wrestler to reach the milestone and the second in three years as Anthony Dattolo eclipsed the mark in 2011-12.

• The No. 5 national ranking is the highest the Colonels have been ranked under head coach Jon Laudenslager who has posted atleast ten wins nine out of the ten years he has been at the helm of the program.

• Wilkes features four wrestlers ranked in the most recent NWCA individual rankings as Mendoza and Mark Hartenstine (Easton, PA/Easton) are tabbed tenth and fifth in the country in their respective weight classes of 133 and 149. Both Mendoza and Hartenstine stand at 14-2 and 20-1 respectively. Eric Bach (Newton, NJ/Kittatiny) is tabbed ninth at 197 after starting 7-0 this season. Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) made his Wilkes debut at the Open after not competing in the first semester. The reigning national runner-up is ranked second in the country at 157.

• Two Colonels will compete in the Next Man In Nationals on Friday including Ryan Smith (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) (141) and Nicholas Dawson (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville) (285).
