Wilkes slips to 3-11 overall and 1-1 in conference matches following the defeat. FDU-Florham improves to 3-7-3 overall and 1-1 on league games. The host Devils took a two goal lead at 2-0 scoring one goal in the first half and a second just one minute into the second frame. Wilkes answered with a goal from Hunter Murray (Aberdeem, MD/Aberdeem) off an Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington) assist to cut the lead in half 2-1 a the 68:11 mark. Murray headed home a cross from McAnena that found the back of the FDU-Florham net. After FDU-Florham added another goal at the 86:11 mark to take a 3-1 lead, Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) gave Wilkes hope heading in a corner kick from Justin Weaver (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) with :48 remaining in the contest cutting the lead back to just one. From there the Colonels were unable to muster another scoring opportunity to tie the game as FDU-Florham escaped with the home conference win. Kyle Romm (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) suffered the loss in net for Wilkes finishing with eight saves in the game. Wilkes returns home for a Freedom Conference matchup with Delaware Valley College Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.Print Friendly Version
