WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER PITCHES 3-0 SHUTOUT AT FDU-FLORHAM
 
MADISON, NJ – Three different Lady Colonels scored as the Wilkes University women's soccer team pitched a 3-0 shutout victory at FDU-Florham Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference action.
 
Wilkes improves to 8-5 overall and evens its conference mark at 1-1 on the year. FDU-Florham drops to 5-6-2 overall and 1-1 in league games.
 
Brittany Gurreri (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown) put Wilkes up 1-0 when she dive-headed a loose ball into the goal at the 17:33 mark of the first half.
 
Shelby Trumbo (Landingville, PA/Schuylkill Haven) added to the lead scoring her fourth strike of the year when she beat Devils keeper Annie George one-on-one in front of the net at the 49:35 mark of the second half. Grave Fazzi sealed the conference win with her third goal of the season putting home a ball into an empty net.
 
Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) and Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) combined to post the shutout in net for Wilkes. Although FDU-Florham held a 11-10 shot advantage, Wilkes mustered ten corner kicks to the Devils two attempts in the contest.
 
Wilkes returns home to face Delaware Valley College Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
