WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-0 AT DESALES
 
CENTER VALLEY, PA – The visiting Wilkes University volleyball team fell in straight sets at DeSales University 3-0 Wednesday night in a Freedom Conference matchup.
 
DeSales took the match by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14. Wilkes falls to 9-11 overall and 2-3 in league matches following the defeat. DeSales improves to 17-7 overall and moves into sole possession of second place at 4-1 in conference play.
 
Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) led the Wilkes attack with nine kills and two digs. Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added seven kills and six kills respectively.
 
Setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with a match-high 27 assists while libero Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) finished with a match-high 21 digs on the Wilkes backline.
 
The host Bulldogs saw four different players reach seven kills or more including eight kills each from Logan Wieziolowski and Julie Blessing.
 
Wilkes returns home Saturday hosting Cabrini College and William Patterson University in a tri-match at 10:00 a.m. at the Marts Center.
