WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-0 AT EASTERN

ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at Freedom Conference defending champion Eastern University Tuesday night.

Wilkes slips to 10-13 overall and 2-4 in conference matches following the loss. Eastern improves to 22-5 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Wilkes fell by scores of 18-25, 16-25 and 8-25. Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the Lady Colonels attack with six kills and six digs. Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) followed with five kills while Ellen Mook (Meadville, PA/Meadville) added four kills.

Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) contributed eight digs while Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) finished with a team-high 11 digs from the backline libero position. Setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) notched 18 assists in the match.

Wilkes travels to Patchogue, N.Y. to compete in the St. Joseph College Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Wilkes faces Ramapo and host St. Joseph on Friday before matches with Alfred State and New Jersey City on Saturday.
