WILKES VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO MATCHES AT ST. JOSEPH'S TOURNAMENT
 
PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Wilkes University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on day one of the St. Joseph's (LI) College Tournament. The Lady Colonels fell 3-0 to Ramapo in match one of the night before a dropping a 3-1 decision against host St. Joseph's.
 
Wilkes slips to 10-15 overall following the pair of defeats.
 
Wilkes fell by scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-15 in the loss against Ramapo. Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) led the Wilkes attack with a team-high ten kills and two service aces. Allen Mook followed with seven kills while Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished with 27 assists.
 
After winning the first set 25-20, St. Joseph's took the second match of the day against Wilkes by claiming three straight sets to win in four by scores of 27-25, 25-22 and 26-24. Benson enjoyed a career match finishing with 13 kills while Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added four kills and 12 digs. Mook also notched a career-high 14 kills while Powers contributed to the passing game with 33 assists.
 
Wilkes continues the tournament tomorrow (Saturday) with matches against Alfred State and New Jersey City at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
