With the defeat Wilkes slips to 4-13 overall and 2-3 in league games. Misericordia improves to 10-5-2 and 4-1 in conference matches. Misericordia took advantage of a foul in the box when Rob Wiacek made good on a penalty kick at the 40:10 mark of the second half. The match went even until Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington) was pulled down in the box when he took a through ball down the right side. McAnena's penalty shot went high bouncing off the crossbar. Wilkes was unable to muster any more scoring opportunities as Misericordia claimed three straight corner kicks to seal the win. Misericordia held a 21-9 shot advantage while the Cougars managed 12 corner kicks to Wilkes' nine. Kyle Romm (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) finished with seven saves for Wilkes in net while Misericordia's Barry Fitzgerald made five stops for the Cougars to preserve the shutout win.
