The Devils responded with a pair of goals at 14:43 and 19:26 to take a 2-1 advantage. Jodie Crutchley scored the first goal on a reverse stick shot and Kim Davis pounced on a rebound to give FDU-Florham their second goal of the game. Senior Kerryn Redcay (Reading, PA/Wilson) tied the game in the 23rd minute when she one-time shot a Surdy pass to even the score at 2-2. Maura Brownsey (Glenside, PA/Saint Basil Academy) scored :43 seconds later when Surdy found her on the back post for a wide open tap in goal. Frankel scored her second of the half with 1:12 left in the first half after she hit a one-time shot from a Surdy cross. The Lady Colonels went into halftime leading 4-2 having outshot FDU-Florham 6-3.Wilkes padded their lead in the 44th minute when Brownsey scored her second of the game off of a Taylor Ryan (Spotsylvania, VA/Courtland) cross to the back post. FDU-Florham despite being down three goals did not pack it up as they went on the offensive and got a goal back in the 47th minute to make it a 5-3 game. Alex Paparo scored in the 61st minute trimming the Lady Colonels lead to one at 5-4. Niki Ikeda tied the game in the 65th minute when she scored off of a Erin O'Connell pass and Ikeda would go on to score the game-winner in overtime when she took a breakaway to the left cut it back to the right and slipped a shot past a sprawling Alexis Reed (Greenport, NY/Greenport) who was making her season debut in goal for Wilkes.Wilkes led in shots 13-11 however they were out cornered 22-0. Surdy had four assists for Wilkes with Frankel and Brownsey each scoring a pair of goals.Wilkes returns to action Wednesday when they travel to LA Plume, Pa. to take on Keystone College at 4:00 p.m.Print Friendly Version
