NOTHSTEIN BREAKS CAREER DIGS MARK IN 3-0 SWEEP OF KING'S
 
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University volleyball team evened its Freedom Conference mark with an impressive 3-0 sweep of King's College Tuesday night at the Marts Center.
 
Wilkes won by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-22. The Lady Colonels improve to 9-10 overall and 2-2 in league matches. King's slips to 10-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
 
Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) set the Wilkes career digs record midway through the second set as the senior passed Allie Kelleher '10 who held the mark with 1,883 digs. Nothstein finished the match with a team-high 20 digs and currently stands with 1,890 career digs.
 
Ally Pakas led the attack for Wilkes with a match-high 13 kills and 14 digs. Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) added six kills and two service aces, while setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) paced the passing game with a match-high 34 assists.
 
Elen O'Donnell and Emily Heimbecker led King's with five kills each. Mary Loughran finished with 29 assists and a match-high 24 digs form her setter position for the Lady Monarchs.
 
Wilkes returns to Freedom play next Wednesday traveling to Center Valley, Pa. for a matchup with DeSales University at 7:00 p.m.
