DAVID, PA – Senior Katie Hughes (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) scored the game-winning goal for Wilkes in the 76th minute as the Lady Colonels defeated Eastern 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.Sarah Wasley (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) put the visitors up 1-0 in the 30th minute when she scored off of a Hughes assist for her first goal of the season. The Eagles tied the score just before halftime when Stephanie Le scored her first goal of the season unassisted in the 42nd minute. Wilkes held a 4-2 advantage in shots while Eastern out cornered them 4-1 through the first 45 minutes of action.Hughes scored her fourth goal of the season in the 76th minute with Wasley getting the assist on the play. Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) made two saves in goal for Wilkes as the Lady Colonels finished their regular season 11-8, 3-4 in the Freedom Conference. Despite being in a tie for fourth place in the Freedom Conference King's will advance to face #1 seed DeSales on Wednesday due to King's 1-0 head-to-head win over Wilkes earlier this season.
