With the win Wilkes continues its season improving to 12-8 overall. Muhlenberg concludes its year with an 11-7-2 overall mark. Wilkes wasted little time avenging an early season loss to the Mules as Katie Hughes (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) scored from fifteen feet out when her shot went off the cross bar and in just 2:42 into the contest. Grace Fazzi (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) extended the lead to 2-0 at the 34:02 mark netting her shot to the far post after a Muhlenberg goalie giveaway. Micaela Oliverio (Carlisle, PA/Trinity) concluded the Wilkes scoring in the second half notching her team-high eighth goal of the year off a throw in from Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland). Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) posted her sixth shutout of the season finishing with eight saves. Wilkes will play the winner of #2 Arcadia and #7 Wesley on Saturday at top seed Lebanon Valley College at a time to be announced. LVC hosts McDaniel in the other semifinal. Winners play Sunday in the ECAC South Region Championship.Print Friendly Version
