Wilkes fell 3-0 to host Swarthmore before falling 3-0 in its second contest of the day to Cabrini College. Wilkes sees its overall mark drop to 3-4 after the two-event day. Wilkes fell in straight sets to Swarthmore by scores of 18-25, 10-25 and 12-25. Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) led the way for Wilkes with seven kills while Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) followed with six kills and five digs. Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) topped the backline with nine digs while Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) anchored the Wilkes passing game posting 12 assists. In the match against Cabrini, Wilkes fell in straight sets 14-25, 23-25 and 19-25. Paskas and Benson led the attack again combing for 13 kills and nine digs. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) finished with a team-high 14 digs while Powers added 20 assists. Wilkes opens Freedom Conference play Wednesday when the Lady Colonels travel to Misericordia University for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.Print Friendly Version
