WILKES VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN FREEDOM OPENER AT MISERICORDIA

DALLAS, PA – After taking the first set 25-23, visiting Wilkes University dropped the next three sets falling to host Misericordia University 3-1 Wednesday night in both teams Freedom Conference opener at the Anderson Center.

Wilkes falls to 3-5 overall following the conference loss while Misericordia extends its win streak to four improving to 5-8 on the year.

Wilkes was led by Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) with nine kills while Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) followed with eight kills and two service aces. Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) topped the passing game with 34 assists for the Lady Colonels.

Wilkes travels to La Plume, Pa. to compete in the Keystone College Invitational Friday and Saturday. Wilkes opens with two matches Friday against Medgar Evers at 4:00 p.m. before a match with host Keystone at 6:00 p.m.
