MADISON, NJ – Host FDU-Florham jumped out to a 2-0 lead and clinched the match in the fourth set on way to a 3-1 victory over Wilkes University Tuesday night in Freedom Conference volleyball action.
 
Wilkes slips to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play following the defeat, while FDU-Florham sees its overall mark move to 12-9 standing 1-1 in league matches after the win.
 
FDU-Florham took the match by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-14. Wilkes rallied to claim the third set 25-18, but was unable to ride the momentum in the fourth and deciding set.
 
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the Wilkes attack with a team-high ten kills and 11 digs. Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) followed with eight kills and two solo blocks, while Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) added six kills and 11 digs. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) led the Lady Colonels backline with a team-best 18 digs while Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) and Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) combined for 31 assists to steady the Wilkes passing game.
 
Melissa Gaffney topped FDU-Florham with a match-high 22 kills and 14 digs.
 
Wilkes returns to the court Saturday when the Lady Colonels travel to Scranton, Pa. to compete in the Marywood University tri-match. Wilkes faces Cedar Crest College at 12:00 p.m. before a match with host Marywood at 2:00 p.m.
