STEVENSON POSTS 2-1 VICTORY OVER WILKES MEN'S SOCCER

STEVENSON, MD – Despite taking an early 1-0 lead just 4:07 into the game the Colonels fell 2-1 on the road at Stevenson on Saturday afternoon.

Ian Moyer (York, PA/Eastern York) scored his first goal of the year off of a corner kick served by Ryan Joyce (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) in the 5^th minute to put the Colonels up early. In the 39^th minute the Colonels suffered some hard luck as a cross served by Mustangs Dino Gilmanov caromed off a Wilkes defender and into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. The Mustangs held a slight advantage in shots at 10-7 and 3-2 for corners.

Stevenson scored the game winning goal in the 76^th minute when a Jon Grant cross was chested in by Calvin Granger. For the game the Colonels were outshot 15-13 and out cornered 4-2. Patrick Loube (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) made six saves in net for the Colonels.

Wilkes (2-9) finishes non-conference play Wednesday evening when they host the University of Scranton. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
