WILKES-BARRE – After dropping the first set, the Wilkes University volleyball team rallied off three straight wins to post a 3-1 victory over visiting Penn State Berks Wednesday night in the Marts Center.
 
With the win Wilkes improves to 3-1 on the year, while Penn State Berks drops to 1-3 overall after the defeat.
 
After falling  25-23 in the opening set, the Lady Colonels responded with three straight wins by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-21.
 
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the attack with 13 kills and ten digs. Ellen Mook (Meadville, PA/Meadville) continued her fine rookie season finishing with eight kills and two total blocks. Marissa Mallory (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) and Abigail Sanders (Allentown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) each posted five kills in the four-set victory.
 
Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the passing game with 34 assists, while libero Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) tallied a team-high 21 digs and two service aces.
 
Wilkes returns to the court Tuesday when the Lady Colonels travel to Lancaster, Pa. for a matchup with Lancaster Bible College at 7:00 p.m.
