Towlen's Goal Leads Women's Soccer in Shutout of Eastern

Nicolette Towlen (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) scored in the 29
th minute to lead the Wilkes University women's soccer team over Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) foe Eastern University at Schmidt Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels improved to 5-8-2 overall and 2-2-1 in MAC Freedom play while the Eagles fell to 6-9-1 and 2-3-0.
Courtney Krasnomowitz (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) found Towlen streaking up the middle of the field and placed a perfect pass, springing Towlen for a breakaway goal put into the lower right corner of the net for the only score of the game.
Wilkes had a 15-13 advantage in shots and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) made 10 saves in net for her fifth shutout of the season.
The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to DeSales University for a 12 p.m. MAC Freedom match.
