Women's Soccer Falls at DeSales
CENTER VALLEY, PA- DeSales University scored three unanswered goals in the second half to hand the Wilkes University women's soccer team a 4-1 loss in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels dropped to 5-9-2 overall and 2-3-1 in MAC Freedom play while the Bulldogs improved to 12-4-0 and 6-0-0.
The Bulldogs got on the board in the sixth minute when Rachel Shive took a pass from Angelica Bertola and scored from inside the box.
Wilkes notched the equalizer in the 22
nd minute when
Brittany Gurreri (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown) found
Micaela Oliverio (Carlisle, PA/Trinity) who drilled a shot from 25 yard out into the left corner of the net.
DeSales scored three unanswered in the 58
th, 70
th, and 73
rd minutes to secure the victory.
Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) made 10 saves in goal for the Lady Colonels.
Wilkes returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Cortland State for 3 p.m. non-conference match.
