Men's Soccer Falls in Double OT at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.- DeSales scored in the 106th minute to defeat the Wilkes University men's soccer team by a 2-1 final on Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Colonels to 4-12-0 on the season and 1-5-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play while the Bulldogs improved to 7-8-2 overall and 2-2-2 in MAC Freedom.

Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) opened the scoring in the 15th minute off of a corner kick from Camry Huff (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) that was knocked down in the box and shot around the goalkeeper.

DeSales tied the game in the 82nd minute when Justin Habick picked up a loose ball in the box and put it in the net.

The game remained tied through the first overtime, but in the 106th minute DeSales netted the winner when Patrick Roche headed in a centering pass from Michael Kirby.

Both teams had 10 shots on goal.

Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made eight saves in goal.

Wilkes returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Manhattanville for its season and MAC Freedom finale at 3:30 p.m.
