EDWARDSVILLE- The Wilkes University men's soccer team scored early, but four unanswered goals resulted in a 4-1 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham(FDU) in both teams MAC Freedom openers at Schmidt Stadium on Saturday night.

The Colonels fell to 2-8-0 overall and 0-1 in MAC Freedom play while the Devils improved to 5-4-1 and 1-0.

Wilkes senior midfielder Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) opened the scoring in the 13^th minute off of an assist from freshman midfielder Kyle Joyce (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood).

FDU scored in the 51^st, 66^th, 73^rd, and 85^th minute to secure the victory.

Colonels freshman goalkeeper Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made four saves in the effort.

Wilkes returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to McDaniel College for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
