Wilkes Volleyball Goes 0-2 at MAC Cross-Over Matches
 
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Cross-Over matches played at the Marts Center Saturday afternoon. The Lady Colonels fell 3-1 against Lycoming College in their first match of the day before dropping a 3-0 decision to Messiah College in the days final contest.
 
With the defeats Wilkes slips to 10-11 overall on the season.
 
Lycoming took the match by scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-12. Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) led the way offensively for Wilkes against the Warriors posting 11 kills and 15 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and Kayley Schinski (Plymouth, PA/Nanticoke) each contributed nine kills while Abby Sanders (Allentown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) finished with seven kills. Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) paced the passing game with 37 assists while Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) played in the libero position recording a team-best 22 digs from the backline.
 
In the fourth and final match of the day, Messiah took the three-set match over Wilkes by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-17. Sanders led the squad with five of Wilkes' 18 kills in the match. Mega Powers finished with 17 assists while Paskas posted 10 digs.
 
Wilkes gets back into MAC Freedom Conference play Tuesday traveling to cross-town rival King's College for a match at 7:00 p.m.
