Field Hockey Falls to Elizabethtown

EDWARDSVILLE- The Wilkes University field hockey team lost to visiting Elizabethtown College by an 8-3 final at Schmidt Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Colonels fell to 7-5 with the loss while the Blue Jays improved to 6-4.

Elizabethtown scored its goals in the third, 10th, 18th, 20th, 38th, 39th, 49th, and 63rd minutes.

Wilkes' first goal were scored by junior midfielder Keighlyn Oliver (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) in the sixth minute off of an assist by sophomore forward Kaylee Caprari (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West). Its second goal came in the 42nd minute by junior forward Jenna Skrinak (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) with an assist from sophomore forward Marissa Surdy (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood), and the final goal came in the 45th minute unassisted by Surdy.

The Lady Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham for an 11 a.m. MAC Freedom matchup.
