Lady Colonels to Travel to FDU-Florham for MAC Freedom Semifinal
WILKES-BARRE- For the second year in a row, the fourth-seeded Wilkes University field hockey team (10-9, 4-3 MAC Freedom) will travel to Madison, N.J. to take on top-seed FDU-Florham (13-6, 6-1 MAC Freedom) in the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) tournament with a 7 p.m. start time.

In last year's semifinal game, FDU scored in the 41
st minute in a 1-0 victory for the Devils.
Back on October 10
th, these two teams met in Madison, with FDU-Florham jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the 6:05 mark.
Marissa Surdy (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) and
Alysa Adams (Sweet Valley, PA/Lake Lehman) scored to edge back to a 3-2 score, but the Devils added another goal in the 68
th minute to cement a 4-2 final.
The Lady Colonels are led by Surdy, who leads the team with 16 goals and 14 assists for 46 points. Surdy ranks first in the MAC Freedom in points, second in goals, and leads the entire MAC in assists. She is followed by
Jenna Skrinak (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) (11 g, 4 a, 26 p),
Taylor Ryan (Spotsylvania, VA/Courtland) (5 g, 4 a, 14 p), and
Keighlyn Oliver (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) (5 g, 3 a, 13 p).
Dallas Kendra (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) has made 118 saves (third in MAC Freedom), posted a .771 save percentage (second in MAC Freedom), and a 1.96 goals against average (fifth in MAC Freedom) in net for Wilkes.
FDU-Florham is led by Kim Davis, who ranks second in the MAC Freedom in points with 42, first in the MAC Freedom in goals with 18, and fourth in the MAC Freedom in assists with six. Amy Defnet has made 84 saves this season, ranking sixth in the MAC Freedom. She has posted a .771 save percentage, good for second in the MAC Freedom, and a 1.46 goals against average, ranking first in the MAC Freedom.
The winner of the semifinal will move on to the MAC Freedom Championship, where they will play the winner of No.2 Eastern and No.3 Misericordia on Saturday. If Wilkes wins, the Lady Colonels would remain on the road for the title game.
