Six Colonels Place at Messiah Open
 
GRANTHAM, PA – Six Colonels placed in the top seven of their respective weight class for the No. 11 Wilkes University wrestling team at the annual Messiah Open Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes saw two place winners at 141-pounds and one each at 149-pounds, 157-pounds, 197-pounds and 285-pounds.
 
At 141, Pankil Chander (Cedarhurst, NY/Lawrence) finished third going 4-1 throughout the day including three extra-point wins and a decision. Chander captured the third place bout with an impressive 11-3 major decision Division II Millersville's Tommy Nulty. Mark Misczenski (Easton, PA/Easton) claimed fifth in the class with using a 5-0 decision in his final bout to place at the event.
 
Morgan Fuller (Hamlin, PA/Western Wayne) took seventh at 149 going 3-2 in the tournament. Fuller pinned Joe Ramsel of York (Pa.) in 1:48 in the seventh place bout.
 
Nicholas Racanelli (West Creek, NJ/Southern Regional) captured third place at 157 finishing 4-1 at the event only losing to the eventual champion. His 5-3 decision in the third place bout made him the fourth Colonel to place at the tournament.
 
Jordan Nochimson (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) and Nicholas Dawson (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville) rounded out the Wilkes place winners at the event as Nochimson took seventh at 197 and Dawson fifth at 285.
 
Wilkes returns to the mat Friday traveling to No. 10 Ithaca College for a nationally ranked match at 7:00 p.m.
