ANNVILLE, PA – The Lady Colonels lost a heartbreaker in game one 10-9 before falling 9-1 in the nightcap on Wednesday afternoon.

With the losses Wilkes falls to 4-6 on the year while Lebanon Valley improves to 4-8 overall.

In the first game the Dutchmen jumped off to a 3-0 lead thanks to a Sammy Bost two RBI triple in the bottom of the first.  Wilkes responded with three runs of their own in the top of the 2nd inning.  Brooke Limeberry (Easton, PA/Easton) hit an RBI single to center and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) scored on the play thanks to an error on the pitcher to make it 3-2 Lebanon Valley.  A wild pitch in the ensuing at-bat allowed Lacey Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) to score to knot things at 3-3.

Kim Ortiz-Marrerro laced a triple to right field scoring two on the play to give the Dutchmen a 5-3 lead heading into the top of the 6th.  Down two and with just three outs left in the game the Lady Colonels pushed six runs across the plate in the top of the 7th to take a 9-5 lead.  Mia Lussier (Somerset, MA/Somerset Berkley) hit a double to make it 5-4 game, Mandy Seccia (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) hit a two RBI double to left center to give Wilkes a 6-5 lead.  Christina Gambino (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) extended the lead to 7-5 with a RBI single and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) completed the damage with a two RBI double to right for the 8th and 9th runs of the game.

The Dutchmen responded with a rally of their own in the bottom half of the inning and down to their final out were able to tie the game on a bases loaded walk and win it one batter later on a fielding error.

Kim Jones (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) took the loss in game one allowing two runs (one earned) in 2/3 of an inning.  Gambino finished 2-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored.  Limeberry also added a pair of hits and a RBI.

In game two, Lebanon Valley put the game away in the bottom of the 4th scoring six runs to extend their lead to 9-0.  Jenna Graziano (Hawthorne, NJ/Hawthorne) recorded a RBI groundout in the top half of the 5th but the Lady Colonels were unable to produce another run and extend the game as they fell 9-1 in five innings.

Jones picked up the loss in pitchers circle allowing seven runs (four earned) in 3.1 innings.  Alex Hoops (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood), and Liz Lisiecki (Moscow, PA/North Pocono) picked up doubles in the game while Seccia and Gambino knotted singles.
