Steve Finkernagel Men's Golf 4/26/2015 6:03:00 PM Wilkes Men’s Golfers Finish Third at Freedom Championships Wilkes Men's Golfers Finish Third at Freedom Championships HERSHEY, PA – Matt Kachurak (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) finished fifth overall carding a two-day total of 162 to lead the Wilkes University men's golf team to a third place finish at the Freedom Golf Championships on Sunday afternoon from the Hershey Country Club. As a team Wilkes shot a combined 671, just 15 strokes behind second place Manhattanville. King's College captured the title shooting a 655 for the tournament. Kachurak finished with an 83 on day two following a 79 on day one. His fifth place finish guaranteed him a spot on the All-Freedom First Team. Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) followed tied for eighth place shooting a two-day total of 165, garnering second team All-Freedom honors in the process. Arlindo Isidoro (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) carded an 82 on day two (167 total) while Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) shot a combined 177 and John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) rounded out the Colonel scorers with a two day total of 189.
