Lady Colonels Softball Sweeps Pacers of Marywood
 
EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The Lady Colonels handily won game one 11-2 in five innings before winning in walk-off fashion in game two 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.

The Colonels stand at 12-20 on the season after the two non-conference wins with the Pacers dropping to 16-17 on the year.

In game one Wilkes pounded out 17 total hits and scored 11 runs combined in the 2nd and 3rd innings helping to erase and early 2-0 deficit after the 1st inning of play.
Christina Gambino (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge), Brianna Klinger (Gardiner, NY/New Paltz Center) and Mandy Seccia (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) all had RBI singles in the bottom of the 2ndLacey Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) laced a two RBI single up the middle in the 2nd and Brooke Limeberry (Easton, PA/Easton) had an RBI double that landed on the warning track as Wilkes scored seven runs in the 2nd inning to lead 7-2.  Wilkes tacked on four more in the bottom of the 3rd with Alex Hoops (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) and Emily McGrath (Upper Darby, PA/Drexel Hill) picking up RBI singles.

Christina Gambino (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) picked up the win in game one allowing two runs (0 earned) and three hits in 4.0 innings pitched.  Klinger finished 3-for-3 in game one with an RBI and two runs scored.  Hoops picked up three hits, two runs scored and one RBI while Bixkler finished 2-for-3 with two RBI's and two runs scored.  Seccia, McGrath, Limberry and Gambino all collected two hits in the game.

The Lady Colonels fell behind 4-0 after three innings of play in game two; however, they cut the lead in half in the 6th and would go on to score three in the bottom of the 7th winning in walk-off fashion.

Limeberry crushed a two-run homer to left center in the bottom of the sixth, Bixler laced a sac-fly to center scoring Sara Birchmeier from third.  With two outs and runners on second and third Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) hit a jam shot up the middle that found a hole plating Hoops and McGrath with the game-winning run.

Kim Jones (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) collected the win in game two allowing four hits, zero runs and striking out six in 4.0 innings of work.  Hoops added three more hits in game two while Birchmeier, Seccia and McGrath all had a pair of hits in the game two win. 

The Lady Colonels conclude their 2015 season tomorrow afternoon when they host SUNY Canton in their season finale doubleheader.  First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
