FREDERICKSBURG, VA. – The Wilkes University women's soccer team concluded its trip to the Mary Washington Soccer Classic with a 2-1 loss at host Mary Washington.

The Lady Colonels fell to 1-4-1 with the loss, while the Eagles improved to 4-2 with the win.

Wilkes struck first in the game, when forward Micaela Oliverio (Carlisle, PA/Trinity) found the back of the net in the 20^th minute with the assist going to fellow forward Shelby Trumbo (Landingville, PA/Schuylkill Haven).

Mary Washington netted the equalizer in the 57^th minute, as forward Christiana Meyers found the net off an assist from midfielder Maryfay Jackson.

The Eagles took the lead for good in the 80^th minute when defender Michelle Gibbons scored unassisted.

Lady Colonels' goalkeeper Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) fell to 1-4-1, making six saves in the loss. Mary Washington goalkeeper Haley Randall made three saves in the win, improving her record to 4-2.

Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts William Paterson for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
