Men's Soccer Suffers 2-1 Setback at Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback at Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels fell to 1-5 with the loss while the Flying Dutchmen improved to 1-5 with the win.
Wilkes struck first in the 11
th minute when junior midfielder
John Stoner (Etters, PA/Red Land) took a shot from the left side of the field and buried it past the Lebanon Valley goalkeeper into the right side of the net.
The Dutchmen tied the game in the 30
th minute, and both teams went into the half tied at one.
In the 68
th minute, Lebanon Valley was awarded a penalty kick following a Colonels yellow card, and converted it for the game-winning score.
Wilkes freshman goalkeeper
Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made one save in the game.
The Colonels return to action on Wednesday when they host Susquehanna University at Schmidt Stadium.
