Men's Soccer Upended in Close Contest
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's soccer team played a very emotional game, but was upended by a 2-1 final against Susquehanna University on Wednesday night at Schmidt Stadium.
The Colonels fell to 1-6 with the loss while the Crusaders improved to 5-3.
Wilkes got on the board in the 18
th minute, when freshman forward
Camry Huff (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) lofted a corner kick into the box allowing senior midfielder
Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) to kick it out of the air and into the net for the 1-0 lead.
Susquehanna came back to tie the game in the 31
st minute on a goal by Pedro Souza.
Both teams were evenly matched in the second half, with each getting chances but neither able to drive home the winner until the Crusaders' Nick Fecci took a throw in from Jack Frebel and slipped around a defender to drive home the winner in the 81
st minute.

Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) made three saves in the game.
The Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Stevenson University for a 3:30 p.m. non- conference match.
