Wilkes Volleyball Cruises to Two Wins at Home Tri-Match
 
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University volleyball team cruised to a pair of 3-0 victories over Cairn and Delaware Valley College Saturday afternoon in a tri-match held in the Marts Center.
 
Wilkes improves to 7-6 overall following the two non-conference wins.
 
Wilkes began the day taking a 3-0 victory from Cairn by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-7.  Nine different Lady Colonels registered kills in the match led by Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford)' six kills and two service aces. Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) and Ellen Mook (Meadville, PA/Meadville) each added four kills for Wilkes while Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) paced the passing game with a match-high 18 assists.
 
The Lady Colonels finished the day with a 3-0 victory over Freedom foe Delaware Valley in a non-conference match. Wilkes took the match by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-11. Paskas again led the way offensively with seven kills and three digs. Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and Kayley Schinski (Plymouth, PA/Nanticoke) each added six kills. Morgan finished with 28 assists while Danica Benson (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) posted a team-high 12 digs from the backline.
 
Wilkes continues its home stretch Tuesday hosting FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference match at 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
